How to send MG5 .lhe files to external Pythia8 for hadronization and showering.

Hello,

My goal is to use .lhe files from Madgraph in Pythia8 (which I had to download externally due to the architecture of my M1 Macbook), and I am having trouble doing so. I aim to perform simple showering and hadronization in Pythia. I am aware that there are certain parameters/settings that I need to ensure match up both in the Madgraph interface and in Pythia, is there is simple protocol for doing this?

Hi,

For LO, you do not have any constraint on the parton-shower.
For LO merged sample, then you need to provide the parton-shower the merging information (lowest and highest multiplicity, ...) which depend of the merging algorithm that you use.
For NLO, this is quite touchy, here is the information: http://amcatnlo.web.cern.ch/amcatnlo/list_detailed2.htm#showersettings
