Asked by Gagandeep Singh

In a process, say u u~ > d d~ e- ve ve~ e+, which is done by hundreds of different intermediate possibilities, how do I tell which one actually happened looking at an event in from .lhe file?

Hi,

In general such question does not make sense (not gauge invariant) so this information is in general not present within the lhe file.
The only exception is in presence of resonance in narrow width approximation where the interference are negligeable (in that approximation) and therefore such information is written within the file as an extra line.

What you can do is to compute each of the term (and all the interference term in top of that) and takes the absolute value of each term. Then you can select randomly one of the 100^2 term based on that number.

Cheers,

Olivier
