can not produce tag_1_pythia_events.lhe.gz in mG5v3.4.1

For example, i generate p p > t t~, output pptt, launch pptt
when I used MG5v2.3.3 , set pythia= on , i can get tag_1_pythia_events.lhe.gz and unweighted_events.lhe.gz in Events file
But when when I used MG5v3.5.1 , set pythia= on , i can only get unweighted_events.lhe.gz in Events file
Then I find MG5/pptt/bin/internal do not have run_pythia in MG5v3.5.1, and MG5/pptt/bin/internal/run_pythia in MG5v2.3.3

I have some question as follows:
what is the difference between tag_1_pythia_events.lhe.gz and unweighted_events.lhe.gz?
when i want do analysis about lhe file in madanalysis5(for example invariant mass M(b b~)), i should use tag_1_pythia_events.lhe.gz or unweighted_events.lhe.gz?

Hi,

Those files where related to pythia6 and madanalysis 4, both are not supported (since many years) by their original author and their interface to MG5aMC is not supported by us anymore.

The file tag_1_pythia_events.lhe.gz correspond to the events after shower where jet have been clustered with a cone algorithm
such that madanalysis4 was able to do some plot. (obviously cone algorithm are not infrared safe so you can have surprise here)

If you want to use madanallysis5, you should never use the tag_1_pythia_events.lhe.gz file since either you want to plot observable at parton level and then you should use the event at parton level, or you want to plot the event after parton shower and in that case you can pass the hepmc (or stdhep if you want to stick to unsupported code) to madanalysis5 directly.

Thanks Olivier Mattelaer, that solved my question.

And then i have another question, In MG5V3.5.1, when i complete a prgoress , i get unweighted_events.lhe.gz、pythia8_events.hepmc.gz、delphes_events.root. when i use madanalysis5 make a analysis, what differences between input hepmc.gz and delphes_events.root? or what input I shuold if I want do complete analysis about parton level to final signal.
