What does G1.02 mean in the output webpage showing cross-sections of sub processes?

Asked by Gagandeep Singh

I'm not sure what to make of the graph names with .xy in from of them.

For example, G1.05, G3.02 ....??

Seems like I can't upload a picture here. Please let know if further clarification is needed.

The value after the "." is a ternary encoding of the information of which particle has to be consider onshell/offshell.

Let's take g g > h > z z > 4 lepton process.
That process has two very different contribution (with very similar cross-section)
1) the Higgs onshell contribution
2) the Higgs offshell contribution and both Z onshell

We do handle those case with different channel and separate them via the number after the "."
The encoding is too complex to understand from the name of the channel since this depend of the associated diagram and also some internal ordering of the propagator. If you want to have the information, you have to read the associated log file where such information is written at the beginning of the log file.

Can you help with this problem?
