lhapdf6 vs ee-collider

Asked by said ghourmin

Hi,
one of problem that i face in madgraph is when i try to run lhapdf6 interface with madgraph to calculate cross section of electron-electron collider processes i recieve this error below but for p-p collider process lhapdf6 fonction without any error. my question is lhapdf6 is usefull to calculate cross section at e-e collider?

here the error that i recieve bellow

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'LHAPDF::UserError'
what(): Trying to use LHAGLUE set #1 but it is not initialised

Program received signal SIGABRT: Process abort signal.

non delta beam for e+e- collider is certainly not something supported within the LTS branch.
In the feature release we started to support more exotic electron pdf.
In the latest version, we do propose a series of PDF but those are NOT linked to lhapdf.
In the next release (3.5.0) we will allow link to eMELA (which is linked to lhapdf).

Again a "simple" lhapdf call is not going to be supported. The issue is that the phase-space integration for ee pdf can not be done like for the case for pp. In addition to the functional form pdf, we need some additional metadata on the pdf to tell us how the phase-space integration needs to be done. So far I do not know if such information does exists or not (and if it is we will likely need to wait at least 3.6.0 before being able to use it).

Cheers,

Olivier
