p p -> W+ W- with CMS

Asked by Ibano Heyth

Dear MG5 team,

I'm trying to run the following process in MG5 aMC@NLO
                                                     p p -> W+ W-
 with the Complex-Mass Scheme ON (and without decay of the W's. i.e., W's are final state particles). According to Veltman [Physica 29 (1963) 186–207] the W's must be taken stable. Moreover, we have other internal unstable particles in this process.

How are you treating such a process/problem in MG5? Is the mixing of the two renormalisation schemes, namely CMS and OS, possible in MG5 without causing unitarity issues ?

Thanks

We do not have any special trick compare to Veltman,
But what you can do is to use the complex mass scheme and set the width of the W to zero.

Cheers,

Olivier
