Cannot find the vertices in vertices.py which have been displayed in diagrams

Dear Madgraph guys

Hi!

I want to remove unnecessary diagrams by removing vertexes in vertices.py. Now, the vertexes which need to be found are W+e+n1 Ze-e - W-e-ve~(where n1 is heavy neutrino), but I can't remove them in vertices.py, because the vertexes are not found in the vertices. py file. What is the reason? Or how can I remove unwanted diagrams?

Maybe there is something wrong with my way of understanding?
 In my opinion, the first are W-mu+n1 and W+e-n1, instead of W+e+n1. The second one is Ze-e+, instead of Ze-e-. The third one is W+e-ve~, instead of W-e-ve~.
 Is my understanding wrong ?

Hi,

I guess that your issue is related to convention between particle and anti-particle.
I do not remember if in the UFO all particle are incoming or outcoming (I should check the UFO paper to know).
But in any case, a vertex (Z,e-, e-) would mean a vertex where the electric charge is not conserved according to the convention of the UFO paper. Is it really the type of vertex that you expect in your model?

I know that Ze-e - is charge nonconservative, which I believe deeply. But when I display diagrams, the vertex of Ze-e - does appear in one of the diagrams, and I also want to remove it. Do you have any good methods for this?

Then I guess that the issue is more a display issue of the diagram than an issue with the model.
Your model does not have any Ze-e- interaction and those are not part of the computation.

I know some people are sometimes confused about Feynman Diagram with particle in T-channel.
For T-channel particle, the elecric charge that you assign to the T-channel particle depends of the fact that you consider particles are emitted or absorbed by the initial state.
Take for example e+ e- > ve ve~ via a T-channel W. Should you write "W+" or "W-" for the T-channel?
if you write W+, then you would have a "e+ W+ ve~" vertex and a "e- W+ ve" vertex.
but if you write a W-, then you would have a "e+ W- ve~" vertex and a "e- W- ve" vertex.
In both case, the "issue" is that the particle displayed are NOT in the UFO convention.

By the way, there is another question: since the vertex in question does not appear in the UFO, I want to remove the diagrams containing the wrong vertex, but I cannot use /w - or /e -, because the diagrams I want to keep contains these particles. What else can I do?

Hi,

First, let me clarify that they are no wrong vertex. The vertex is perfectly fine.

So I would understand that you want to remove some Feynman Diagram (which is not the same are removing a vertex).
This is by nature something to do with caution since you can lead to unphysical result by doing so.
