MadGraph scale choice

Asked by Yury

Hi,

I found in https://answers.launchpad.net/mg5amcnlo/+faq/2014 that when dynamical_scale_choice = -1 in the run_card.dat, that means that the default scale choice will be used. But how do I figure out what is this default scale choice?

Thanks!

Any ideas?

Hi,

For LO code generated (so not [QCD]) then the scale will be determined by a CKKW clustering based on the channel integration.
So in that case they are no analytical formula associated to the scale (depending of the process/channel it can by HT/2 or shat or ... something else)

For NLO code, -1 should be HT/2

Cheers,

Olivier

Okay, thanks. And HT is the scalar sum of the jet transverse momenta?
