Matching NLO jets in Herwig PS

Asked by Carolyn Gee

Hello,

I am generating a MadGraph NLO sample p p > Z a j j QCD=0 [QCD], and showering with Herwig7. I am wondering if matching to the parton shower to avoid double counting is set up automatically when setting parton_shower=HERWIGPP in the run_card.dat, or if matching needs to be further set up manually in MadGraph? Setting ickkw=3 seems like it could set up FxFx matching/merging, but is this a relevant parameter to set if I only want to match PS jets and don't want to merge jets?

Yes,

Everything should be automatic.
You do not have to set ickkw >1 but if you want to combine multiple sample with different born multiplicity.

Cheers,

Olivier
