Meaning of various steps of Madgraph terminal output

Asked by akash

Hi Madgraph Team,

I have a very general question, which some other people may be interested in.

When I generate events, there are many steps, and different things are printed to terminal at these steps. "Compiling...", "P1_qq_...", and so on.

What computational task and step of event generation corresponds to which part of the terminal output? Are there some paper/s, slides etc. that I can have a look at to understand these things?

Thank you

Hi,

I think for the NLO part of the code I made some slides on that in ... 2013
but this is only for the NLO part of the code (and the LO printout is quite different) and obviously before the first official release of the NLO code.

The P1_qq_
correspond to various directory/code that handles a subset of the matrix-element used for the computation.
The organisation of the computation can be found here: 1106.0522

Cheers,

Olivier

Meaning of various steps of Madgraph terminal output" would likely be an inquiry or request for clarification, seeking an explanation or documentation on the significance and interpretation of the different stages and information displayed in the Madgraph program's terminal output.
