Using Pythia in Z+jet process

Hi,

I am trying to produce Z+jet events in the leading order, using "generate p p > Z j " command. Although I choose Pythia8 as the shower program, I only get .lhe files. Pythia8 does not launch when I run the process. I had that issue for LO Drell Yan process as well.
What should I do? Do I use a wrong command? What should I use?

it seemed that you use the correct command.

Now the question is if pythia8 is installed correctly note that you need the latest version of Mg5aMc (2.9.6 or 3.3.0) to have "install pythia8" working.

If this is not the issue, you should check the log associated to pythia8.
