ickkw settings in run card

Asked by Sihyun Jeon

Dear,

I have a question about the ickkw setting in the run card.

When you do
generate p p > e+ e- [QCD]
add process p p > e+ e- j [QCD]
add process p p > e+ e- j j [QCD]

Does it make a difference when you do in "LHE level" event files :
1) ickkw=4 for UNLOPS
2) ickkw=3 for FxFx
Or is it just a flag that you set in MGamcatnlo to let Pythia know what it should do and the event files itself are equivalent?

Regards,
Sihyun.

And maybe the same question goes to MLM as well in LO.

If you set the same xqcut = 10.0
and give ickkw=1 and ickkw=4 (for UNLOPS), would it affect the physics in the LHE files?

Dear Sihyun,

The LHE files are different depending on the ickkw setting.

Best,
Rikkert
