Pythia8 run from MG5

Asked by Andrew McAdams

Hi!
I have the following question. I generated the process
generate p p > b b~
and then ran mg5 combined with pythia. I have not changed anything neither in pythia8_card nor in run_card. I was interested in events with (Bs*)^+ meson that decays into B+ and K-. By inspecting the .hepmc output, I have found events containing the Bs* meson, but there were no its decay products, which means that decays of this particle (and probably the other short-lived particles) are turned off.

I am a newbie in pythia8, so may ask a stupid question, but could you please tell me what option should I add in pythia8_card.dat in order to turn on decays of ONLY Bs*?

Hi,

I actually have no idea since I'm not an expert of pythia8.
I would suggest to check the pythia8 manual or to contact the pythia8 authors.

Cheers,

Olivier
