Partial off-shell decay in diHiggs

Asked by Yizhou Cai

Dear experts,

I am wondering if there is a way to specify a particle off-shell. We are studying the process "p p > H2, (H2 > h1 h1, (h1 > b b~, h1 > ah ah))", and I want the h1 which decay to "ah ah" to be off-shell. Can it be done in MadGraph?

Many thanks for your help!

Regards,
Yizhou

No we do not have any official syntax for that.
Maybe this fits what you want/need
p p > H2, (H2 > h1 > h1 ah ah , h1 > b b~)
But since you have one h1 onshell and one offshell you might have some issue with the computation of symmetry factor.
So it is not impossible that your cross-section might be off by a factor of two. Please check carefully if you use such weird syntax.

Cheers,

Olivier
