SMEFT NLO ttbar - Result collection error

Asked by Pim Verschuuren

Dear experts,

Here is my MG v3.1.1 setup:

import model SMEFTatNLO-NLO
define p = g u c d s b u~ c~ d~ s~ b~
define j = g u c d s b u~ c~ d~ s~ b~

generate p p > t t~ QCD=2 QED=0 NP=2 NP^2=2 [QCD]

output test_dir
launch
shower=pythia8
done
set nevents 100000
set maxjetflavor 5
set cqq81 -1.0
done

When I run this I get the following error:

One note I should make is that when I use the order definition NP^{2}=4 with the generate command and the rest the same I do not get this error.

Thank you for any help.

Cheers,
Pim

Hi Pim,
I reproduced your error.
It is triggered by these lines in montecarlocounter.f

1206 if(xmcxsec(npartner).lt.0d0)then
1207 write(*,*)'Fatal error in xmcsubt'
1208 write(*,*)npartner,xmcxsec(npartner)
1209 stop
1210 endif

I include Rikkert in the thread, as I think it is not enough to comment these lines, because there are some unweighting steps (one right after) which may need to be adapted in the case of negative contributions, which are legitimate in the case of a mixed-couplng expansion.

We will let you know.

Cheers,

Marco

Dear Pim,

The relevant fix should be this one

https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~maddevelopers/mg5amcnlo/3.1.2/revision/980

Please let us know if this fixes your problem.

Best,
Rikkert
