Discrepancies X-sections e+e- collisions

Asked by Cesare Cazzaniga

Hello,

I have some problems related to understand the discrepancies I have found between MadGraph cross-sections and my references. For example, I tried to generate at sqrt(s) = 240 GeV:

1. e+ e- -> e+ e- Madgraph: 670 pb , Reference (BABAYAGA): 930 pb

2. e+ e- -> q q Madgraph: 12 pb, Reference (Whizard): 54.1 pb

3. e+ e- -> Z e e Madgraph: 0.155 pb, Reference (Whizard): 4.54 pb

Is it possible such a discrepancy ? How do I have to interpret it ?

Many thanks in advance

Hi,

Did you check the default cut and be sure that they are the same (as well as all the mass/parameter in particular aEW)

Cheers,

Olivier

Hi,

no indeed I have to check them. Sorry, I have just started 2 days ago to use MadGraph, so I need to get accustomed to all of these. In case the problem will persist I will let you know

thanks
