re-running madgraph from where it left off

Asked by celik

Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible re-run madgraph from where it left off after jobs have been killed by the cluster as jobs already reached run time limit on the slurm cluster?

Or Can I run pythia standalone?

Thanks

This really depends of the type of jobs you run (LO/NLO/loop-induced, gridpack/non-gridpack), the stage where it fails and so on/... I'm always worried about side effect of doing that so I typically not doing that.

yes you can.
you can run the executable ./bin/madevent
and then run the shower like
pythia8 run_01

You can also run pythia8 fully outside of MG5aMC obviouslyy

Cheers,

Olivier
