Running MadSpin on pre-existing .lhe file

Asked by Alessio Pizzini on 2020-10-26

Hi,

I tried to run MadSpin on a previously produced .lhe file to decay the events contained there with the following instructions:

 ./MadSpin/madspin -f madspin_card.dat -d ..../<event folder>/ .../events.lhe

however, I got the following error message:

Am I doing anything wrong?

I found useful indications here: https://cp3.irmp.ucl.ac.be/projects/madgraph/wiki/MadSpin, the command
./bin/aMC@NLO
in the process folder works.

Hi,

Sorry for the long delay, this week has been crazy so far (a lot of teaching and a lot of meeting).

the issue is that you "-d" should not be the event file (this should be pass inside the card file as
import PATH_TO_LHE

but indeed the easiest is to use the
./bin/madevent or
the ./bin/aMC@NLO
executable and then do
decay_events RUN_XX

Cheers,

Olivier
