Running MadSpin gives error: not supported format standalone_msP

Asked by Jay Sandesara

I have generated 2000 events for loop induced g g > z z g g process. I am now trying to decay the z bosons to lepton pairs using MadSpin. I use the following syntax:

set max_npoint_for_channel = 6
generate g g > z z g g [noborn=QCD]

decay z > l+ l-; decay z > l+ l-

The ggzzgg generation runs successfully but MadSpin gives an error saying 'InvalidCmd: not supported format standalone_msP '. This also happens with g g > z z g and g g > z z loop induced processes. It does work with p p > z process using z > l+ l- syntax. It also works with p p > h > j j z z. The problem happens I think when I do [noborn=QCD]. Here is the output in the log file: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1Sj0Py_56F2MIgv6BROw6k5KSghVfekz-

Hi,

Indeed MadSpin can not decay process coming from loop-induced processes.
The only (and quite bad option for your case) is to use the spinmode set to None or to set the decay directly in the parton-shower program (which has the same precision or even better than MadSpin in spinmode=none mode)

Cheers,

Olivier
