Restricting eta/phi of all particles

Hi,

how do I severely restrict the eta/phi range of all produced particles?
Additionally I want to unrestricted the minimum pt of all particles as much as possible.
I am only interested in one of the new non 4pi far detectors.
In the current run_card.dat I can only see the options for eta restricted to charged leptons or specific pdg number.

Hi Jan,

At parton level, you should know the PDG of all your final state particles, so using the specific pdg code is not an issue.
So i guess that you want to put restriction on the shower/hadronization (where the number of pdg code is huge).
In that case, you should check the pythia8 manual to see how this is is possible.
(in that case you will not modify the run_card.dat but the pythia8 card

I will start with MadGraph. For eta I will use

 {} = eta_min_pdg ! rap cut for other particles (use pdg code). Applied on particle and anti-particle
 {} = eta_max_pdg ! rap cut for other particles (syntax e.g. {6: 2.5, 23: 5})

Can I do the same for phi?

But that's mean no cut... is this what you want?
for phi, no we do not have any cut available for that one.

You can in principle set those cuts in the file SubProcesses/dummy_functions.f

Note that setting very strong cut can leads to issue for the phase-space integration.
