ISR jet from incoming Proton

Asked by trenta coollime

How can one generate a process, which contains one ISR Jet from incoming proton beam

I tried p p j > h > z zp, z> l l-, zp > b b~, which gave me "error: ninitial = 1, 2".

I also tried paranthesized argument, which was not easy, since the two protons have to created 1 higgs portal.

I appreciate your assistance.

Thank you.

Is this not what you want?
generate p p > h > z zp j, z> l l-, zp > b b~

Note that > X > syntax just requires that at least one S-channel particle is a X in the feynman diagram. This is a quite bad syntax since it can easily break gauge/lorentz invariance and produce quite unexpected feynman diagram.

Cheers,

Olivier

No, that's not what I want...

I want AT LEAST 1 Jet will radiate from the incoming quark, which produces higgs.

so I want something like p (p j ) > h> z zp.

Not sure which diagram you want.
Can you draw a Feynman diagram, put it online and put the link here.
Or if you do not want some of the diagram created by the above syntax, you can also tell me which one you do not want.

Cheers,

Olivier

So that one should be include in the syntax above.
generate p p > h > z zp j, z> l l-, zp > b b~
(assuming that you have a vertex qq~h and/or ggh in your model.)

What are the Feynman diagram returned by
generate p p > h > z zp j, z> l l-, zp > b b~
or by
generate p p > h > z zp j

Cheers,

Olivier

Thank you. I checked the diagrams and checked that they are my wanted processes!.

p.s. Do you happen to know why there exists only u,d,s,c quark fusing into higgs? Diagrams and LHE files both claim that.
I will check "Problem Solved" for this thread pretty soon.

Hi,

> p.s. Do you happen to know why there exists only u,d,s,c quark fusing into higgs? Diagrams and LHE files both claim that.

Well this can either be because you are in a 4 Flavor computation
and therefore your PDF are zero for "b"/"t" (this is actually the default defintion for the proton to only include 4 flavor or quark).
Otherwise this can be a limitation of the model

Cheers,

Olivier

Thanks Olivier Mattelaer, that solved my question.
