Weight of a process without generator level cut

Asked by Chiara Iannetta

Hi

My question is the following: I generated a process like p p > w+w-; then I edited the run setting the line

{'24': 500.0} = mxx_min_pdg ! min invariant mass of a pair of particles X/X~ (e.g. {6:250})

Now, I easily get the cross section for this process(~3pb), but is it possible to obtain the cross section for the same simulation without the generator cut (~64pb)? Is this cross section stored in some file?

Not in that direction no.

From the one without cut, you can get the one with the cut (by applying the cut on the generated event sample --increasing off course the statistical uncertainty--)
But you can not do the opposite.

Cheers,

Olivier
