MG5 run scripting in version 2.6.3.2

Asked by Caue Evangelista on 2019-12-07

Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well.

I'm a MadGraph novice, and I want to create a plot of Ecm v's Cross section for a certain process.

In order to do this I started reading the questions and FAQ's submitted here, but got stuck in the use of a script for MG5 generation.

I used the example script given in FAQ #2186 but MG5 created only one run in the output diretory and created no cross section txt file at all.

These are the comand I typed:

/local/apps/MG5_aMC_v2_6_0/bin/mg5_aMC /home/ecaue/Madgraph/test

I have installed the 2.6.3.2 version of MadGraph, can this problem be related to this version?

EDIT:
Other point: Can I use the set syntax inside a python loop to define the ebeam multiple times? I'm asking this because I intend to generate a great number of points in order to obtain a clear picture of the Z resonance.

Thank you for your time and patience!!!

Hi,

I have tested with the latest version and it works.
So I would advise you to install the latest version and retry.

Cheers,

Olivier

Hi, Olivier

I will try to install the latest version.

Other point: Can I use the set syntax inside a python loop to define the ebeam multiple times? I'm asking this because I intend to generate a great number of points in order to obtain a clear picture of the Z resonance.

No you can't

What I would suggest is to write a python code which is writting the file /home/ecaue/Madgraph/test
that you need.

Cheers,

Olivier
