top polarisation and madspin decays

Asked by Ezequiel Alvarez

Hello!

I'm reading the 4-years old thread

https://answers.launchpad.net/mg5amcnlo/+question/266533

on decay of polarized tops.

is still valid? Or is there any easier/modern way to:

- modify matrix1.f to only produce some set of polarisation in the tops
- generate polarized tops
- decay them in such a way that the decay maintains the spin info?

As far as I understand, I cannot use MadSpin directly connected to MG output lhe, but instead I should use the old Decay package. Is this correct?

Thank you very much, Ezequiel.

Yes this is still the only way.

We are now working on a method, which will give you more control.
So check the UpdatesNotes of future version to check when this will be possible in a nicer way.

Cheers,

Olivier
