Parton cm frame

Asked by Antara Sarkar on 2019-06-20

I am trying to generate p p > a h and then the higgs decays to two z bosons and each of the z decays to two leptons with sm in MG5_aMC. I wish to go to the parton center of momentum frame to study angular distributions of higgs and photons. Can we do so? For this, I require the boost factor of the partons, right? Is it possible to find it?

Regards,
Antara

Hi,

In version 2.7.0 (plan for release in around septembre) , an hidden entry of the run_card (named boost_event) will allow you choose in which frame you can write the events in the output file.
Now, I have no idea how much such feature will be supported by plotting code like MadAnalysis5 (or any code in general).

For the plot itself, I would suggest to check the code that you are using to do the plots (root, madanalysis5, rivet, ...) if they do not have already all the routine available to select the boost. If you do not use such code, then you need to compute such boost factor from the information in the events, you have all the information needed for that.

Cheers,

Olivier
