Generating root file with MadGraph

Asked by Alim.ruzi on 2019-05-16

Dear All,
I run the example given amcfast-hepforge, to practice madgraph with APPLgrid (first timeusing madgraph)
I successfully got the the FO_analyze_card.dat and open it to edit.
How do I edit the options below:

FO_ANALYSIS_FORMAT = root (I wanted to get root file )
FO_EXTRALIBS = (here should I point the root home directory or leave it empty ?)
FO_EXTRAPATHS = ( ? )
FO_INCLUDEPATHS = ( ? )
FO_ANALYSE = analysis_HwU_template.o (On this line, actually ' analyse_amcfast_root_pp_V.o ' or analyse_amcfast_td_pp_V.o should be filled, but in my FixedOrderAnlayse folder, I can't find the corresponding code files)

What should I do ?
Please help me,
Thank you all in Advance
Cheers,
Alim

Dear Alim,

At the bottom of the FO_analyze_card the following is written:

## When linking with root, the following settings are a working
## example on lxplus (CERN) as of July 2014. When using this, comment
## out the lines above and replace <PATH_TO_ROOT> with the physical
## path to root,
## e.g. /afs/cern.ch/sw/lcg/app/releases/ROOT/5.34.11/x86_64-slc6-gcc46-dbg/root/
#FO_ANALYSIS_FORMAT = root
#FO_EXTRALIBS = Core Cint Hist Matrix MathCore RIO dl Thread
#FO_EXTRAPATHS = <PATH_TO_ROOT>/lib
#FO_INCLUDEPATHS = <PATH_TO_ROOT>/include
#FO_ANALYSE = analysis_root_template.o

That should help you to figure out what to put there. Note that this is for an old system at CERN, so there might be some tweaks needed if you running on your machine which might be installed differently.

For the example analysis files, you might want to contact Valerio Bertone, <email address hidden> . He should have them.

Best,
Rikkert
