madanalysis error

Asked by IPSITA RAY

hi,

I want to know whether MadAnalysis is necessary for plotting histograms or plots can be generated using some syntax on CLI.

I have downloaded MadAnalysis_V1.1.8 and was trying to install MadAnalysis using MG5 but it interrupted with :

MG5_aMC>install MadAnalysis
syntax: install Delphes|MadAnalysis4|ExRootAnalysis|update|Golem95|PJFry|QCDLoop|maddm|maddump|looptools|pythia8|zlib|boost|lhapdf6|lhapdf5|collier|hepmc|mg5amc_py8_interface|ninja|oneloop|MadAnalysis5
-- Download the last version of the program and install it
locally in the current MadGraph5_aMC@NLO version. In order to have
a successful installation, you will need to have an up-to-date
   F77 and/or C and Root compiler.

When installing any of the following programs:
     pythia8, zlib, boost, lhapdf6, lhapdf5, collier, hepmc, mg5amc_py8_interface, ninja, oneloop, MadAnalysis5
   The following options are available:
--force Overwrite without asking any existing installation.
--keep_source Keep a local copy of the sources of the tools MG5_aMC installed from.

   "install update"
check if your MG5 installation is the latest one.
If not it load the difference between your current version and the latest one,
and apply it to the code. Two options are available for this command:
-f: didn't ask for confirmation if it founds an update.
--timeout=: Change the maximum time allowed to reach the server.
Command "install MadAnalysis" interrupted with error:
InvalidCmd : Not recognize program MadAnalysis

Thanks

If you want to install MadAnalysis with madgraph, type "install MadAnalysis5" and madgraph will find the version what he wants.

If you don't want to use MadAnalysis5, type "install MadAnalysis4".

Madgraph don't know what's "MadAnalysis".

Hi,

So indeed, we do not have in house method to plot the Feynman diagram.
So we rely on our friend who created the MadAnalysis5 package.

MadAnalysis4 is not maintained anymore and It should be more and more difficult to install when computer will fully drop the 32 bit support (which is schedule in less than a year on Mac, and which is partly done on linux).

Now you can use any method that you want to plot such quantity. (I have quite often use my own matplotlib routine for doing advanced plot but this obviously require that you code quite a lot.)

Can you help with this problem?
