less events than requested

Asked by Karla Tame

I'm trying to run a process in the frame of e+ e- collider specifically for CLIC experiment. I did some runs of my model in the stage 1 and 2 of CLIC, it is 0.380TeV and 1.5TeV for the center of mass energy, and everything was working more than right. However when I try to run the stage 3 for 3TeV for the center of mass energy, I get much less events than asked, from 10000 I get between 20-100 events. Something that puzzles me is that whenever I ask for 100 events or less everything works out. I really do not have any clue of what is happening, do you have any limit for the center of mass energy? Any clue will be really very welcome.

PS. I do not receive any error message at all.

Thanks a lot for your help,
Karla

Hi,

We do not have limit for the center of mass energy. But the higher the energy is the more complex the computation is.
Not enought number of events, might be due to something extremelly tricky to integrate or to some infra-red divergencies not correctly handle by the cuts (the higher is your energy the higher you should put such cut obviously).

Cheers,

Olivier

PS: Without any additional information on your process, I can not help more than the above "typical" reason

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for your prompt response. I attached here the lhe file so you can
take a look.
I am using the Cuts MG5 has by default and just lower the minimum pt for
the b
and the minimum pt for the photons. Should I increase any other cut?

File can not be attached trough launchpad website (if you send them by email they are just discared.
If you want to attach file, please create a bug report instead.
