new particle

Asked by Ekaterina

Hello, Dear MadGraph experts!
Before I start working in the software package, I need to find out whether it is possible to add a new particle and completely describe it (spin, mass, charge, etc.) in order to further study its decay modes.
With best regards, Ekaterina!

Hi Ekaterina,

We are certainly committed to support any BSM model.
We have obviously some limitation
The biggest one are
- the higher spin allowed is spin 2
- the highest color representation is the octet --we support sextet and epsilon_ijk color structure--

For defining your BSM model, we support the UFO convention.
The easiest way to generate model in that convention is to use FeynRules (which takes your Lagrangian and create your model in the correct format).

For "simple" model (like adding one particle to the SM). It is extremelly lucky that such UFO model is already existing.
I would suggest to look at the FeynRules website the list of model shared by the community.

Cheers,

Olivier
