After Delphes simulation No event loss

Asked by Winston

I have simulated process e- e+ > j j vl vl~ at MG5_aMC_v2_6_3_2 and MG5_aMC_v2_6_4. The problem is that after passing through the Delphes simulation, there are (almost) no events loss. It's really wierd. I have tried different Delphes cards and also tried process e- e+ > j j, but the situation is same. What's the problem? How I can fix it? Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I guess that this is a question for Delphes author.
(At least I do not understand your question and do not see what I can answer to it)

Cheers,

Olivier

hey, thanks for your attention. I thought after Delphes simulation, the total event number will suffer decrease. But when I simulated e- e+ > j j vl vl~ and e- e+ > j j by Madgraph, I found that I generate 10000 events, after delphes simultion there are still 10000 events remained. I don't understand why there are no events loss when do detector simlution

Hi,

Since Delphes is a fast detector simulation, this is certainly less precise than a full detector simulation.
I can not help on this topic actually and you should contact Delphes author (or probably read Delphes paper/manual) to check what can be include to simulate such event loss.

Cheers,

Olivier
