Is it possible to see variation of production cross-section with a parameter?

Asked by Basabendu on 2018-10-31

Dear MadGraph Team,

I am looking for a way to see how the production cross-section of say, e^+ e^- > W+ W- changes with the polarization of incoming beams (i.e, I need a data set of polarization vs cross-section). Does MadGraph provide any such way ?

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm not sure to understand what you want.

1) you have the beampol parameter of the run_card in order to set the polarization of the beam
2) if this is not what you want, the information about the polarization of the incoming particle is written in the lhe file.
and therefore you can use that to build any obervable that you want (including correlation/...)

In any case, yes it should be possible.

Cheers,

Olivier
