Madspin weights

Asked by Tyler Reese

I generated a process then decayed the LHE file in madspin. Where could I find the weights for the decayed process?

MadSpin does not add any weights.
It just scale all of those already present by the Branching ratio.

Olivier

Oliver,

Thanks for your reply but I'm still confused. Perhaps I was too vague initially and need to be more specific. I generated a VBF process BSM with Higgs Characterisation. I have a cross-section and now I've also decayed the process with madspin. Where could I find the branching ratios or the decay rates for the decay?

Hi,

If you did everything in one go,
you can see the file crossx.html
where you will see the cross-section before and after madspin.
From that you can make the ratio and see the BR that was used for the computation.

Otherwise if you decay a single particle, you can also look at the LHE file produce after madspin
and check the BR information present in the param_card for that particle (and read the line corresponding to your process)

Cheers,

Olivier
