I don't know how to scatter a lepton and quark

Asked by Christopher Milke on 2018-06-26

I am just becoming familiarized with MadGraph, and I am trying to produce a very simple process. Using the default SM model, I do

madgraph can produce diagrams without issue, but crashes during the launch with:

compile Source Directory
Compiling the bias module 'dummy'

How did you set the energy beam for that scenario?
And what are the cut that are used?

Not sure that we have define sensitive default for such type of porcess definition.
So it is possible that what you actually ask does not make sense if you did not edit the default run_card.dat

Cheers,

Olivier

I believe I'm using the default run card without any modifications (except that I've reduced the event number to 1000). Just in case, I've pasted it below. What do you mean that we do not "have define sensitive default" for this type of process? Are there some physical constraints on this process that the run card parameters are preventing?

I suspect this is something which should be obvious to me, which I'm simply not seeing, and so I do thank you for your patience.

Best,
Chris

You ask the electron to come from the proton using the proton pdf to get such probability.
But such number is not given in lhapdf and therefore your computation returns 0.

A better setup in your case can be
