NLO QCD for tth process with 5flav scheme

Asked by SUBHASISH BEHERA

Dear Oliver,

My appology for not able to check any relevent question related to my error. I have two questions :

Q1. The process I have is as follow :

import model loop_sm
define p = p b b~
define j = p
generate p p > t t~ h [all=QCD]
output pp2tth_all_qcd_5flav
launch pp2tth_all_qcd_5flav
order NLO
fixed_order OFF
shower HERWIG6
#madspin onshell
#reweight
#madanalysis ON
done
#run_card
set run_card ebeam1 7000
set run_card ebeam2 7000
set run_card nevents 50000
set fixed_ren_scale True
set fixed_fac_scale True
set mur_ref_fixed 235.0
set muf_ref_fixed 235.0
set dynamical_scale_choice 0
set mur_over_ref 2.58
set muf_over_ref 2.58
set run_card parton_shower HERWIG6
#showered_card
set shower_card is_bbar T
done

The error is as follow :

Q2. I want to use "madspin" for spin analysis here but it has some issue which will be changed in the upcoming version ! Is it ?
You have also mentioned that we can still download from "bzr" depository which I was unable to use. Can you give a link so that I could download and use without installing any further software in my system ?

Thanks,
Subhasish

Dear Oliver,

I have tried with the model : "loop_sm-no_b_mass"; which works fine now. But I couldn't understand why m_b=0 has solved the problem with 5flav scheme ! Can you explain this issue ?

I also tried to switch on "madspin" now but I had issues as follow (This refers to my Q2 above):

Command "launch auto " interrupted with error:
InvalidCmd : "define" command requires symbols "=" at the second position

I have refer to : https://answers.launchpad.net/mg5amcnlo/+question/661988
but unable to get the latest 2.6.2.

Thanks,
Subhasish

Hi,

I'm not working today,
so I will just give you the following link:
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mg5core1/mg5amcnlo/2.6.2/revision/322
where you can find a tar ball with (I hope) the full code.

Cheers,

Olivier

Thanks Oliver,

Now after generating process in the new version : https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mg5core1/mg5amcnlo/2.6.2/revision/322

I got the following error :

Command "launch auto " interrupted with error:

Hi,

Not sure if this can be done or not inside that model. (this needs a specific handling or the yukawa mass for the renormalization).
Valentin will confirm if that model can do it or not.

Cheers,

Olivier

Dear Olivier,

The first part of execution is all right but when you pass it to madspin, it causes error.
I think we can think of a mechanism where the madspin should take the value from some other card (may be a parameter setting in the madspin_card itself, but not for all may be only for b- quark (like non zero mass to b-quark) or some NP parameters behave differently at decay level.).

Thanks,
Subhasish

Hi,

This already exists but we never check the impact of changing a mass of a particle when doing so.
But if you look at the madspin wiki page you will find such instructions.

Cheers,

Olivier
