interaction violating the charge

Asked by craiklee

Hello,
I used SARAH's command MakeUFO to generate the UFO files of model 331-v2, then I startup MadGraph 2.5.4, run the following command:

MG5_aMC>import model 331v2 -modelname
INFO: load particles
INFO: load vertices
INFO: The model has interaction violating the charge: charge
Kept definitions of multiparticles l- / j / vl / l+ / p / vl~ unchanged
Defined multiparticle all = g a nu1 nu2 nu3 nu1bar nu2bar nu3bar ft d1 d2 d3 fdd1 fdd2 u1 u2 u3 ftbar d1bar d2bar d3bar fdd1bar fdd2bar u1bar u2bar u3bar h1 h2 h3 ah3 hpm3c hpm4c dpm2c z zp wp xp ypp hpm3 hpm4 dpm2 wpc xpc yppc e1 e2 e3 fee1 fee2 fee3 e1bar e2bar e3bar fee1bar fee2bar fee3bar

Is this info "The model has interaction violating the charge: charge" a big problem?

If it is a problem, where does it come from? MadGraph or SARAH?

Do you have any clue to resolve this problem?

Thanks!

Hello,

When importing, A similar SARAH model gives under infos:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
impossible to set default multiparticles l+ because No particle e+ in model
impossible to set default multiparticles l- because No particle e- in model
impossible to set default multiparticles vl because No particle ve in model
impossible to set default multiparticles vl~ because No particle ve~ in model
Kept definitions of multiparticles j / p unchanged
Removed obsolete multiparticles all / l- / vl / l+ / vl~
Defined multiparticle all = VG A FN21 FN22 FN23 Fv1 Fv2 Fv3 FN21bar FN22bar FN23bar Fv1bar Fv2bar Fv3bar d1 d2 d3 d4 d5 d6 u1 u2 u3 d1bar d2bar d3bar d4bar d5bar d6bar u1bar u2bar u3bar h1 h2 h3 h4 h5 h6 h7 h8 Ah4 Ah5 Ah6 Ah7 Ah8 Hpm3 Hpm4 Hpm5 Hpm6 Dpm VZ VZ1 VZ2 VWp W Hpm3c Hpm4c Hpm5c Hpm6c Dpmc VWpc Wc Fv4 Fv5 Fv6 e1 e2 e3 e4 e5 e6 Fv4bar Fv5bar Fv6bar e1bar e2bar e3bar e4bar e5bar e6bar
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are these infos big problems?
Especially, these four infos:
impossible to set default multiparticles l+ because No particle e+ in model
impossible to set default multiparticles l- because No particle e- in model
impossible to set default multiparticles vl because No particle ve in model
impossible to set default multiparticles vl~ because No particle ve~ in model

Thanks!

Hi,

About the "The model has interaction violating the charge: charge" information.
It means that the electric charge is not conserved in your model.
The first question is "Do you expect that"?

If the answer is no, then go back to Sarah and fix the model.
If you indeed study such type of model. Then this is not problem for madgraph (but I do not know which (if any) parton-shower will support that type of model.

Concerning "impossible to set default multiparticles vl~ because No particle ve~ in model"
This is just to indicate that the default label "vl~" will not be available in that model because some standard model particles are not defined in your model (in this case you miss the electron neutrino).
This is just a message such that you are aware of it. Nothing to worry about.

Cheers,

Olivier
