Non-trivial energy dependent couplings

Asked by Xabier Marcano

Dear experts,

I am interested in including a non-trivial energy dependence in one of the vertices of the UFO that I have already created. I assume that in principle it should be easy following the same steps as in the "taudecay_UFO" model example implemented by default in MadGraph, but my case is not exactly the same.

For what I have seen so far, the vertices have only information about the four-momenta of the particles involved in that vertex. However, I would like to have access to other kinematical variables other than those four-momenta so I would be able to give my vertex a dependence on them (for example, I might be interested in including a coupling dependent on the invariant mass of the subprocess only.)

I would like to know if this is possible and if so, how I should proceed.

Thank you.

Hi,

The reference for such type of computation is the following one:
https://cp3.irmp.ucl.ac.be/projects/madgraph/wiki/FormFactors

For what I have seen so far, the vertices have only information about the four-momenta of the particles involved in that vertex. However, I would like to have access to other kinematical variables other than those four-momenta so I would be able to give my vertex a dependence on them (for example, I might be interested in including a coupling dependent on the invariant mass of the subprocess only.)

I have never implemented non-local form-factor.
Method 1 and 2 (of the above link) only support local form-factor.
For non local form-factor, you have to go hardcore and go for the method 3 (using some of the trick mention for the non UFO model)

Cheers,

Olivier
