QCD scale for monojet signature without jet matching?

Asked by Alexander Belyaev

Hello,
is there a simple answe on the following question:
what is the default MG QCD scale for monojet signature (DM pair plus quark or gluon) without jet matching?
Thank you,
Sasha

Hi,

Not really,
In short, this is the transverse mass of the 2>2 system obtained by a kt-clustering of the events following the CKKW approach.
This scale choice is particularly sensitive for MLM/CKKW matching/merging and i would advise to use it in presence of matching/merging.

If you do not perform matching/merging, then it might be easier (for your understanding) to switch the dynamical_scale_choice
to a positive number where the dynamical scale choice is then associate to a simple analytical function.

Cheers,

Olivier
