Modify HT calculation

Asked by alefisico

Hi,
maybe it is something very simple, but I need to modify the way madgraph is calculating the HT of a process.
Let's say that I have a process:
p p > X X + 0,1,2 extra quarks (without decay)
If I am not wrong, I think now it will only add in the HT calculation the extra quarks but I will like to include the X particles too.
Is there an easy way to do it? Even "hacking" the code?
thanks for your help!

Hi,
just a friendly reminder, is there a simple way to modify the ht calculation in madgraph?
cheers,

Hi,

This cut is not only used as a cut but we also optimized the phase-space mapping (more exactly the boundary of the phase-space) according to the value of ht.
Changing his definition is therefore not trivial.

Instead of modifying that one, I guess it would be better to just define a new cut (in cuts.f).
If the efficiency is an issue, then you need to also perform the optimisation part which is in myamp.f

Cheers,

Olivier
