Hi,
I would need your debug file to have the information on how reproduce your bug.
Additionally, could you modify the Source/make_opts
and uncomment the line 7:
FFLAGS+= -g -fbounds-check -ffpe-trap=
then do
cd Source; make clean;cd ..
and retry.
The error might be more precise with those additional flag.

No this is the error when a program tries to read a space of memory which is assigned to another program.
One of the option that I ask you to put is to have a even strongest requirement on memory access which should have indicate
which file/line tries to have some access.
I have ran the same process as you and did not reproduce the bug at all. (while the out of program is computer dependent with all the flags such problem should not be computer dependent). So I will need you to do the following:
In the second time you ran you should have a message like this one at the end:
Error when reading /home/shibanand
go to the associate directory and do
gdb ../madevent
then type
run < input_app.txt
it should run the code and crash as before but now it should print much more info.
When it does you can type “bt” or “tb”
and it should give you the problematic file/line

Dear Olivier,
1. I had run the gdb ../madevent from the directory /home/shibanand
2. Another thing, I did not find the "input_app.txt" file in this Directory(G10a0). So, I run the command: "run<input_sg.txt" and got the above result that I had posted before.
3. Now I went to /home/shibanand
4. Also "bt" and "tb" command is not working. Only, the following things are coming after "bt" or "tb" command.
(gdb) bt
No stack.
(gdb) tb
No default breakpoint address now.
(gdb)

Ok,
Looks like you run in the wrong directory.
You need to find one of the G???? directory who does not have an events.lhe inside.
And then run inside that one.
Concerning input_app.txt or input_sg.txt both are fine as long as the code crashes at the end.
(Otherwise we do not learn anything)

This is gdb version dependent, you can also try backtrace and traceback.
But as long as the previous code do not stop by crashing those command are anyway useless.

Hi,
This one also ends as expected.
So I guess that the correct instructions is to look for those without any results.dat
Since it is possible to finish correctly and not have any even generated (if the associate cross-section is 0 like here)

Indeed still no error.
The only solution is that this was a temporary problem related to your OS or something like that.
Not sure what i can do to help you on this then…
