DIS with MadGraph

Asked by Keping Xie

According to the reference for MadGraph5_aMC@NLO, arXiv:1405.0301 [hep-ph], MadGraph can handle pp or e+e-, I wonder wether it is possible to do ep collision such as DIS on HERA. I have see one example on website http://www.desy.de/~obehnke/obehnke140120n.pdf.gz, which deals with e- p > ve t~. But my current job is do the calculation of NLO calculation with heavy quark mass effect. I have not found a good example which can provide a benchmark for me.

Hello,

Currently NLO production for DIS processes is not supported. It will be a substantial amount of work to implement this, which is something that we do not have the manpower for.

best regards,
Rikkert

Is there any progress in DIS support for MC@NLO?

Thanks,

Hello,
what about ep photoproduction, which basically means gamma + p collisions?
I've tried to run it, but got some error at NLO.

We would like to validate the NLO part of the NNLO calculations with another program.
I was hoping that some automatic tool for NLO already exists.

Otherwise, we are forced to use very old programs like Frixione Ridolfi and here only 2jets NLO is implemented.

Do you know about some more modern way?

Thanks a lot.

Dear Radek,

I'm not aware of any recent codes for DIS.
It might be that there is support in Sherpa+OpenLoops -- you'll have to ask them. I'm not sure it is there.

Best,
Rikkert
