A compilation Error occurs when trying to compile /nv/blue/zrc2hs/private/tt/SubProcesses/P0_uux_ttx.

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to run processes at NLO order (everything works fine at LO accuracy) but every time I get this long string of errors in blue:

Hi Marco,

Thanks for the quick response! These are the versions of fortran/c/c++ compilers I am using:

gfortran: 4.8.2
g++: 4.8.2
gcc+ 4.8.2

Hi,
can you check that the
maxparticles.inc file exists inside the P0** dir (actually it should be a symbolic link to the file one level above
and is not empty?

Something like
      INTEGER MAX_PARTICLES, MAX_BRANCH
      PARAMETER (MAX_PARTICLES=5)
      PARAMETER (MAX_BRANCH=MAX_PARTICLES-1)
should be in that file...

Can you have a look (it looks like this problem appears quite randomly and it is hardly reproductible)

Hm, I tried what ended up solving his problem, but it didn't work for me. I am using the latest version of aMC@NLO. Anyway, I found subprocess/maxparticles.inc which was a symbolic link to Source/maxparticles.inc which was not empty, it contains the following:

      INTEGER MAX_PARTICLES, MAX_BRANCH
      PARAMETER (MAX_PARTICLES=5)
      PARAMETER (MAX_BRANCH=MAX_PARTICLES-1)

exactly what you posted. Also, I'm running this on our universities supercluster, on a directory that is read/write, and has plenty of extra space.

can you try to type

make gensym

inside the P0_uux_ttx directory and see if the compilation by hand works?

Hi Marco,

Sorry about the delayed reply, I was trying something that ended up fixing my problem! I went to the aMC@NLO site and re-downloaded the tar (the same one I originally had,) deleted everything in my directory, then reinstalled the tar. Everything works perfectly now! I'm not sure why but I'm glad it works. May be because the gcc compilers have changed versions since I first installed aMC@NLO?

Anyway, thank you so much for your help!!
