HC model diagrams

Asked by Adam Kaluza

Hi,

with the HC_NLO_X0_UFO-heft I generated the process p p > x0, x0 > l+ l- l+ l-. I checked the diagrams and there are also decays allowed with x0 > z a > l+ l- l+ l-. Is this correct? I know that the x0 > z a vertex is implemented in this model but due to my process definition I expected only the x0 > z z in the decay.

Thank you in advance!

Cheers,
Adam

Edit: The process I specified was p p > x0 , x0 > z z > l+ l- l+ l-. Sorry for the confusion.

Hi Adam,

I can reproduce your problem with MG5 2.3.0; in fact if I ask to
generate p p > x0 , x0 > z z > l+ l- l+ l-
I also get diagrams with the photon (x0 > z a > l+ l- l+ l-).
Clearly Madgraph is not interpreting correctly the command, but fortunately there is a simple solution:
ask to
generate p p > x0 , x0 > l+ l- l+ l- / a
and you'll get only the diagrams with two z's.

Just remember that in the 4 charged leptons decay channel, the diagrams featuring two z's (x0 > z z* > l+ l- l+ l-) interfere with the diagrams featuring a z and a photon (x0 > z a* > l+ l- l+ l-) , so be sure that you want to simulate a scenario where you can neglect the latter contribution.
Cheers,

Federico
