The default dynamical factorization and renormaliztion scales for ttH processes
Hi,
I read from the wiki that the default dynamical factorization scale is chosen as the central mT scale after kT-clustering of the event. What is the meaning of kT-clustering of the event?
For example, in the ttH production, what will this scale be? It will be the mT of the Higgs or the geometric mean of mT for the three heavy particles, or something else?
Thanks in advance.
Best wishes,
Da Liu

Dear Da Liu,
are you referring to madevent--like processes (without NLO corrections?)?
In this case I am not really sure about the answer.
You do kt clustering to reconstruct the history of the event if you have light partons around (this is merging-inspired), which is not the case for tth.
Olivier, what happens in this case?
Best!
Marco

Hi Marco,
Yes, I am referring to LO madevent-like process without any NLO corrections.
Best wishes,
Da Liu
