job fails with "An error occurred during the collection of results"

Asked by Thor Taylor

I am using version 2.2.2 of the code
I have an error with the process p p > l+ l+ vl vl j j QED=6 QCD=2 [QCD] (i.e. Both EWK and QCD production modes included)
Notably, both the EWK (QED=6, QCD=0) and QCD (QED=4,QCD=2) process work when generated separately.
I've turned off the pole check (because the EWK production mode fails it); I realise that the missing loop diagrams may lead to incorrect results, though I think the effect will be small in the region of phase space I am looking at.

When I launch the production, I get the error message "aMCatNLOError : An error occurred during the collection of results", with 0/2100 jobs "correctly terminated".
When I looked at (a random sampling of) the log files, they all ended with this error:
 Error in computation of bpower:
  not an integer 1.9979664912801929
(the actual value of the non-integer varied slightly between log files).

Hi Thor,
with the current version of MG5_aMC@NLO, you can only compute processes when all born diagrams have the same couplings (or at least the same powers of QCD couplings). A version which will be capable to handle the so-called mixed-coupling expansion is currently WIP...
So for the moment one has to live with this limitation...
Let us know if you need further informations..
Cheers,

Marco

Hi Marco,

Thanks for the prompt response. You mention that including this is a WIP;
is there an estimate of when this functionality will be included?

Cheers,
Thor

Hi Thor,
the timescale of this is of order of months, it will be released together
with the possibility of computing EW corrections on which we are working.
Cheers,

Marco
