Decay cuts and Madspin

Asked by Andre Sznajder

I am generating a sample of p p > W+ W+ QED=4 QCD=0 using MG5_aMC_v2_2_1 to study W polarization and later on decaying the W's with Madspin, where W+ > l+ vl. I am cutting the lepton Pt>20GeV in run_card.dat and somehow my LHE has some leptons with Pt<20Gev.

My question is does Madspin obeys the cuts in run_card.dat ? If yes how I end up with leptons bellow the threshold in the final LHE ?

Hi,

MadSpin does not take into account the various cut present in the run_card.
The only one take into account is the bwcutoff. --The implementation of the cut in MadSpin and the one in MG5_aMC do not match exactly.--

Cheers,

Olivier
