shower without hadronization

Asked by celine degrande

Hi,

I want showered events without hadronization but I still get hadron in the hep file even if I put hadronize = F in the shower card, see below. I have top higgs in the final state of my process but I have only B hadrons, pions, kaons, nucleons in the hep eevent file?

Cheers,

Celine

Hi Celine,
that command is active for all MC’s but HERWIG6, since for
HERWIG6 I don’t think there is a way to turn hadronisation
off.
Cheers.

Hi Paolo,

Is there a reference for the option of the shower card?

Cheers,

Celine

Hi Celine,

the shower card tries to give the same choices for all MCs, with
few exceptions (one of which is hadronisation in HW6).

You can find the list of what is enabled for which MC in the file
madgraph/various/shower_card.py, where the dictionary names_dict
associates an environment variable to the MCs for each of the
options in the shower card.

The options that feature all four MCs, like for example ‘ue_enabled’,
should be active and working for all of them.

Cheers.
