Degeneracy factor in madgraph standalone output

Hello,
While working with some standalone (cpp) output from Madgraph 5 I came across a factor I am a little unsure about.
For the subproccess g g > e+ e- d d~, in the sigmaHat method, the value returned is twice that returned by sigmaKin.
Is this to take into account the degeneracy of final states between d d~ and s s~ states?

I think is is to do with the d/s being equivalent, since when I generate only for one of these proccesses the factor is no longer generated.
