Matching multiple processes

Asked by Matthew Low

Hi,

I have a question about how MadGraph does matching in the case where there are multiple processes being matched in the same proc_card. For example:

generate p p > t t~ @1
add process p p > t t~ j @2
add process p p > w+ w- @3
add process p p > w+ w- j @4

Are 1 and 2 matched independently of 3 and 4? I've tried this and noticed that there is only one set of differential jet rate plots.

Thanks!
- Matthew

Hi Matthew,

I actually never think about such possibility.
They are actually no problem on the code point of view.
But
1) this force to have the same matching scale for both process which might not be a good idea.
2) the plot are indeed not foreseen for such case.

For the second point, might be MadAnalysis5 tools might be able to make each plot in a separate way.
But I would advise to do two generations.

Cheers,

Olivier
