aMC@NLO with a custom model

Asked by Michele Pinamonti

Dear all,
I have a custom model for an effective ggt interaction (Effective_GluonTops_UFO), which worked fine with MadGraph 5 v1.9, and I would like to use it in this new version v2 beta. What I would like to do is to consider a NLO QCD + this effective interaction.
But when I try:
  MG5>import model Effective_GluonTops_UFO
and then
  MG5>generate p p > t t~ [QCD]
I get
You are entering aMC@NLO with a model which does not support loop corrections.
  Command "generate p p > t t~ [QCD]" interrupted with error:
InvalidCmd : The model Effective_GluonTops_UFO cannot handle loop processes
...
and it crashes.
So, in the end, I don't want to have loop corrections of my new interaction, but just QCD NLO.
It should be like having NLO QCD + LO QED, right?
Let me know if I'm missing something and may be if there is a simple way to fix it...

Thanks a lot!

Hi Michele,

Your model doesn't have the information required in order to do NLO QCD.
Compare to standard UFO Model, the Model needs some additional analytical information (R2/UV/...) which are need
to be include in the model. FR is developing a new version which is going to provide this information.
A status report on the work of FR will be given tomorrow:

This I don't understand, indeed QCD NLO includes loop corrections.
If you want to have only the virtual (which means that you have to provide your own virtual, you can do
> generate p p > t t~ [real=QCD]

Cheers,

Olivier
