Yukawa param in param_card.dat is overwritten

Asked by Giuseppe Salamanna

Dear MG5 team,

I am trying to generate a sample of pp->tHj events, both for a SM top Yukawa coupling and for a BSM negative value.

For the latter, I have changed the sign of ymt by hand in param_card.dat (within the Block yukawa bit). It turns out, though, that as soon as I run ./bin/newprocess_mg5, my negative ymt gets overwritten and it goes back to the default positive value.

How do you advise me to go about simulating negative Yukawas for the single top + Higgs production?

   Thanks,
      Giuseppe

Hi Giuseppe,

The script "newprocess_mg5" is suppose to remove the file Cards/param_card.dat by the default one associated to the new model.
Indeed if you have the line import model mssm we have to change that file by the default one associated to the mssm model.
So you are free to change the value of the param_card AFTER have run that script.

Cheers,

Olivier

HI Olivier

perfect - that solved the issue and I obtained my new sample. In fact, this process is just "SM" with a different Yukawa, so I changed the sign by hand just before running ./bin/generate_events.
Thanks for the prompt answer,
g
